contract rate for my insurance was 125 dollars.

And you could have probably paid $70 if you paid with cash.

So the only factor into where you would schedule your child’s procedure/surgery would be proximity?

Honestly? Unless it’s something truly rare and unique, does anyone really interview for standard procedures?

The last procedure I had I just chose the first name. I guarantee there’s studies that show doctor’s with last names that begin with “A” get more business than those that start with “Z”

My wife and I both work in healthcare so I would probably give it more thought than the average person.

OK I’ll play along.

Doctor:Where would you like to schedule your child’s procedure?

Me: Is there a children’s hospital nearby?

What if it’s an outpatient procedure that can be done either at Children’s or at Ochsner’s new Grove complex - two facilities that are like 2 miles away from each other, operated by competing hospital systems?

I think some of y’all are being intentionally obtuse about this. It’s perfectly reasonable to question whether spending $50 million for arena naming rights is a wise investment for a hospital system. However, people are acting like they don’t understand why hospitals advertise at all.

There’s also the more recent news that OLOL plans to build a $100 million sports medicine facility next door to the new arena, and it’s not entirely clear how those plans tie in with the naming rights.

Maybe they're looking to dump some cash so they can remain a non profit Who knows

They couldn’t dump that $50 million into equipment, facilities, or free care?

The nuns that run OLOL are very shrewd. They run that hospital for Jesus himself.
