Why have so many Christians never read the Bible?

It a fairly easy book to read. The Old Testament is weird as all get out, but the Christian part (new Testament) is pretty straight forward. Yet, a large majority hasn’t read it cover to cover??? Why is that?

Most people who are into groupthink are not critical thinkers. Or very big readers either. Takes too much effort. They would just rather the redneck preacher tell them what to think.

To be honest, reading the Bible cover to cover was terrifying at times, even parts of the New Testament. Anyone who thinks the New Testament is all peaches and cream is fooling themselves.

Because most of them just dont wanna go to hell. And the message they receive, especially the Protestants, focuses soley in that. If you start reading the Bible seriously and with copious memorization and application, then you become a threat to the preacher who was making ends off you.

This is correct. Some people know the Bible forwards and backwards but they never gave their heart to Jesus. Just because you have a ton of knowledge about the Bible does not mean you personally know Jesus. There are several pedophile priests who fall in this category and they will not be going to heaven.
