Why hasn't Scientology started a college?

For a religion in search of credibility, this would seem like a no brainer. The Fighting Thetans making a March Madness run or signing a home and home with Notre Dame would give them more good publicity than a hundred Tom Cruises.

Could probably get the Oral Roberts praying hands at a discount.

If you look at it like you just arrived from Mars and were assessing religions, it’s not one iota wackier than any other religion.

Pretty sure you’d have a problem transferring out or getting a transcript

The church doesn't place any particular value on education outside their own materials - "tech" as they call it. For example, the church is largely run by Sea Org members who are normally high school drop outs who join at 14 to 16 and are never educated by the church, except nominally as OTJ type stuff.
It's a fascinating study in a truly modern "cult" - and even if you don't believe the church itself (the "publics") as they call it, local staff and certainly the Sea Org constitute a cult.

The purpose of every major world religion is to spread its doctrines to as many people as possible without reservation.
Scientology, on the other hand, requires pre-payment in order to advance to the next level. In addition to that, Scientology's doctrines are kept secret from its own members, much less the public at large.
Scientology isn't a religion, it's a tax scam perpetrated by a lunatic and continued by one of the most evil men on the planet in David Miscavige.

It would be the most expensive private college on the planet.

If they had a football team they could join a new conference with Notre Dame, Liberty, BYU... Battle of the religions on the field.

They run schools called Delphi Schools that use their study tech from their Applied Scholastics group. They're mostly K-6 but a few of them are K-12.
Applied Scholastics will try to get it's tech into public and private schools, including one in Baton Rouge.

College students don’t have much money...and the way to salvation is through cash donations.

My only guess is the exposure and regulation because you're right this would appear to be the mother of all tax shelters.
