I know it pisses me off too. I can't stand what the man has done to this great country of ours, but you have to give him his due props.
I also have respect for the office (not so much the man) so I try to refrain from being a complete window licker when it comes to Obama, but some people that worship storefront, Huff compost, beirtbarf, etc don't have the same tact.

I made a comment in the office today when our secretary/admin/hr/everything was talking about his trip here.
I commented on his 25 million dollars he has aquired from Alla knows where while only making $400,000 a year as POTUS.

The US will have to keep it up a few more centuries to make any all time list, France was never the baddest MOFO on the planet.
Rome
The Greek city states
Persia
a few of the Chinese dynasty's
Mongols
Egypt
Ottomans
Spain
The Muslims, while technically not a country still fit the bill for quite some time
possibly England who was Frances chief rival in their heyday
And quite a few others
I would even place the Aztecs above the French in dominating the others around them militarily.
The fact that our schools are so eurocentric gives a false impression of Western European dominance.
