The news readers on French TV dress better than anyone on earth.

The conquest of the Grande Armeé was incredible, but it only was at that level for a decade.
No country, following a proxy war in which they ceded lands to a neighboring rival, gets twerked as bad as they did with the Maginot Line, and gets to retain the title of GOAT military.
First of all the GOAT is the US. Secondly, the frogs never commanded the naval/maritime prowess that their British rivals did, nor did they enjoy the same duration of dominance that the Romans did. Nor did they achieve the same geographic reach that the Mongols or Persians did.
I'm half French, but come on, noob. (Eta: talking to the main noob)

Yeah people are ignorant sometimes. You just have to dwi.
They don't realize that France has been pretty much in perpetual war. There is no way in hell Americans would have put up with getting their young men killed in droves generation after generation. Of course they grew tired of it and through up the white flag a time or two, but frick look at their military history.
I mean just look at the century leading up to the start of WW1, they had all those Coilition wars. Battle of Lepizeg(sp?) where they went over a half a million men into battle, Waterloo, the war with Spain, they were in war with Mexico at the time, Franco-Prussian war was in the mid 1800's. All over their empire they were at war like Bejing. So you don't think they were fricking weary as frick by the summer of 1914? But they still put their dukes up and fought like a 'rabid wolverine'
