Ask yourself were the recipients of said door holding outside the range of acceptable 'door holding'?

i.e. you turn around to hold the door and see someone outside of 10 steps, frick them... I'm not waiting on you.

There is a science to this. I screw it up about once a month and either hold the door for what seems like forever or let it slam in someone's face.

This morning I jump ahead to open door for oldsters.

1) ~50 year old thick black woman - got a thank you,
2) ~60 year old fat black woman - nothing (I suspect thinking about pastries)
3) ~45 year old thick white woman - thank you and a smile
4) ~80 year old skinny white man - you're doing a good job there sonny.

Same. Not all women are self absorbed terrors. I've had the door shut on me by men as well.
