Why dont we have monkeys in our forests and swamps. That would be pretty cool.

We almost had hippos in the swamps. In the early 1900s.. I think thats when it was, they were going to bring them in to help with some problem.. What if it happened and the swamps were filled with alligators and hippos?

I know a lady who bought a couple monkeys and used them to justify billing Medicaid for children’s therapy. She made millions doing it and then used the money to buy a herd of buffalo in Independence, Louisiana. …a herd of F’ing buffalo!

It gets too cold too often up here. One bad winter would kill them all. Monkeys need year round food sources, they don’t have adaptations like food hoarding or hibernation to survive a winter.
Once they were killed off, there are lots of geographic barriers to keep monkeys from South America from moving north.

Couple of reasons. They did migrate, but can't handle cold climates. That kept them from coming into NA.
