The church where I grew up had a “cry room” on the side of the alter.
You could still see the altar and participate in Mass the best you could with a crying child.

Your church doesn’t have a kid’s church and nursery?
Ours does. You drop off your baby/child before one of the main services. They go to the nursery or kid church depending on age. Middle school kids have their own buidling/service as well. Same for the high school age.

Parents at my church will not let their children out of their sight because my church is very close to a Catholic church.
