The gents who attend the Royal Ascot horse races in England wear them. The really rich guys show off antique ones. And because people had much smaller heads a couple hundred years back, an old one in size 8 or so is very rare and costs a shite ton of money.

Why was this a thing? Who convinced men they had to wear a hat back then? Why and when did it stop? And why do men wear ballcaps everywhere now?
