Why don't Louisianians care more about the environment?

I remember when my beautiful blonde kindergarten teacher Ms McCormick explained to me what "sportsmans pardise " meant. A flooded land of bountiful fish and rich soils. She played us songs like " this land is my land, this land is your land" . For many years after this was my general impression of Louisiana. I actually believed the we lived in a paradise that was the envy of the the remainder of the country. Geography tell us why this should be true. Louisiana is the mouth of a giant watershed that stretchs to parts of Canada and every where in between. Our Waters were as rich and teaming as the mouth of the Amazon before the great flood of 1927. Since the flood . The River has been strangled. The coast is drowning.
The greatest attrocity to me is the amount of litter and trash in our waterways.
Chemical plants pollute out river and surrounding communites . But people didn't think like that in the 60s . Ddt and other pestisides caused poisoned the wildlife that we harvest.
Why don't we take more care of our natural resources ? They're unique and valuable. I just grew up to care about the environment . I'm a 26 year old man and I'm taking a stand for Louisiana. I love our beautiful forests and catfish laiden waters. I want CC Lockwood's picture of Louisiana to live on for my childerns , childerns, childern to enjoy. Wet , rich, pristine Paradise.

Ms McCormick apparently didn't teach paragraphs.

I'll care about the environment when you care about grammar.

Because they are primarily conservative and view this as a liberal cause, it really is as simple as that. Neither side logically thinks anything out anymore, they take the opposite position as the other side and defend it to the death. Everything is partisan, groupthink bullshite.

The amount of trash in roadside ditches is off the charts.

I have only visited but understand the passion that you must feel. I wish Ms McCormick, bless her soul, had stressed writing a bit more. Much of this reads like Tiger Woods wrote it just before his nap the other morning.
Proofread things, son. Hunt on and fish on.

It saddens me how dirty New Orleans is. Come on, people, how hard is it put your trash where it belongs and not just throw it wherever you please?
