OT makes it sound like women are out for their truck nuts. Why cant you protect yourself? High school sweetheart with a MRS degree aint worth signing your life away for baws.

They do. The legislature has made one for you that decides what happens when you get divorced.

But you are asking why people don’t make their own

If your girl is serious and want to make it work, she wouldnt mind.

My friend has a large inheritance and asked his gf of 2 years for a prenup and she agreed after much debate.

This is one hell of a reason. If she doesn’t want to sign it then it’ll flush out the money grubbing whores.

To some, prenups is saying a marriage is bound to fail. If you feel that way, then why get married?

I am broke so what do I know.

In most cases there really isn't a need.

Unless you have a lot of money when you get married it's going to be fun to prove separate assets; especially community property that has both your names on it.

Also going to make the money arguments a lot more fun if you are saving more than she is.

Won't help when it comes to child support either.

Like Chris Rock said (and I paraphrase) "Everybody needs a prenup. If you make 20 million and your wife wants 10 so what. You ain't starvin. But if you make 30k and she wants 15 you might have to kill her. I ain't moving back home with my mama cause you ain't in love"

Do prenups even hold up come time for divorce? I can see a judge saying tough shite she gets half anyways.

And I've never understood the mindset of each spouse having his and her money/assets anyways. There should just be "ours". If not, why even get married in the first place?

Most inheritance and assets acquired before a marriage are off limits in a divorce. Prenup protects assets acquired after a marriage.

After ten years of marriage don't a lot of states just split everything 50/50 and the assign alimony based on who has the higher salary?

Not saying this makes sense. Alimony for more than a year or two after a divorce seems ridiculous to me. If you aren't married you will have to be an independent person.

I had nothing when i got married and nothing when i got a divorce..

Thanfully i built up a good thing afterwards and if i ever decide to get married again it will be protected.

In the past marriage contracts were lined out in a very way that discouraged divorce. Now days the gubment encourages divorce with "no fault" divorce. Total bull shite. It isnt worth the hassle getting into these days.
