Pretty fricking awkward conversation to have dude. You want to bring that shite up to my gf for me?

Just tell her that you might change genders one day and need an out. She'll understand.

If you need a prenup, then you should not get married.

Marriage is a lifelong commitment.

No desire to get married but, B-LAW teacher said "Prenups aren't for the rich, they are for everyone...I speak from experience." Tax professor said "Avoid taxes, don't evade them."

Thought inherited money couldn’t be touched as long as you didn’t commingle the funds.

You can commingle, either way, you have the burden of proof to show they arent community property.
Just have a clear accounting of everything.

And don’t marry a whore.

Everyone should sign a pre-nup. Rule 1 I learned in Business Law. Man spoke from experience. I just thought it best not to get married.

Do prenups even hold up come time for divorce?

in LA? yes

in some places like Cali? meh

I can see a judge saying tough shite she gets half anyways.

they do this shite in other states but it's pretty strong in LA

And I've never understood the mindset of each spouse having his and her money/assets anyways. There should just be "ours". If not, why even get married in the first place?

if a marriage boils down to financials, then a pre-nup is more necessary than ever

if this is not in LA, then it could be up for grabs

some states have regimes similar to community property without the name. pretty sure this property can be considered in those states

Unless it's changed, in Louisiana you can file for a separation of prop before marriage and they don't even have to know.

La atty's can tell us if that is still so.

Mine signed a prenup. Was a 10 min conversation. She actually wanted to, to prove to family that it was not about money.

Also attorney help me setup all financials, we do comingle some but only really the family funds. All investments and assets are separate. If i buy new, i use the seperate structure so as to not use comingled funds.

I got divorced and didn't have anything to start with when first married. I got older and accrued some things and I'm not losing it.
Got married again and she agreed to it. She would have a lot to lose also. Yes, I love her and don't think anything will ever happen but I'm also old enough to realize shite does happen and I'm not starting over again in my 40s or 50s.

I had it with my fiancé and she signed it last week, had no issues at all

If a girl truly does love you there's really not any LOGICAL reason she can give for not doing it. Problem is women aren't logical and most men are whipped to shite and won't show any spine

It all depends about who has something to lose and who has something to gain

It falls into it. Once can gain by giving the other half their debt and such
