Because Since ww2 all we have fought is rats. Plus there is too much political rules today about what’s fair in war. I wouldn’t want to take some hajji’s 20 year old rags they wear or their piece of shite 40 year old ak-47.

My grandfather at one time I was told had an ivory handle German pistol that he brought back but it “disappeared”. We haven’t fought anybody with any money since the japs and Germans

exactly...you can imagine the kind of savage shite soldiers did in some past wars to get that stuff.

This is classic! It reminds me of the line from Dr. Strangelove, "Gentlemen! You can't fight in here! This is the War Room!"

Yep, war is some savage shite. By the time you get around to taking their stuff, plenty of savage shite has already taken place. A little more isn't going to be an issue.

You realize some slick operator in the Quartermaster Corps was manufacturing those souvenirs to sell to gullible GI's.

We invaded Iraq b/c supposedly they were financing nuclear weapons development. And they did have some multimillion dollar state of the art jet aircraft and antiair defense systems, they just didn't have enough of it or how to use it properly.

They had money and plenty of it.

Not money. It's culture, class, and history that is more than just non stop fighting.

I upvoted before it was deleted.

I got a old arse worn Tula mag from a AK home.
Not as good as what they got back home decades ago but better than coming back empty handed.

Only somewhat related, but I had a friend in construction who was a former squid. His son also served, although I can't remember which branch. Anyways, before his son came home from deployment, he shipped his personal gear home. In the box was a disassembled FA AR-15, among other things. So I'm sure they can find ways around it.

I never hear of people bringing trophies from wars in Vietnam to today's war.

Because the government says you can be trusted with weapons only as long as you are on active duty, doing its bidding.

Once you're out, you're just a lowly citizen who can't be trusted with any type of weapon without asking the kings permission.

Only like that now. In the beginnings, you could bring back anything. I have some Iraqi flags, money, rev guard berrett and some misc stuff. You couldn't get that stuff within 100miles of a base now though.

We have only fought guerillas and insurgents for the last however many wars. Every time we go to war, it’s so that the Rothschilds can establish a new central bank in some shithole of a country (AKA: Nation Building). All of the big countries with cool shite have already been infected.

Quite a few guys brought back stuff from OIF1. Bayonets, flags, a few pistols. They tightened up after that but it wasn't uncommon at first.
