I have been told you pull up. They gave people behind me food. They were black. There is little chance they ordered mild.

In your case, pull up for da whitey.

The Burger King in the town I live asks you to pull up to a door. They will do this even if no one is in line. The problem is when you pull up to the next door, the person behind you still can't leave because of the drive thru lane they created.

Reset the drive thru timer to make their numbers look better? The same reason fast food restaurants have done it forever

I'd rather hear "Pull up" than "Pull out".

It's possible they have a speed of service timer that begins counting as soon as you pull up to the window. Most so-called fast food restaurants have a goal of serving your food in "X" number of seconds. (35 years ago, it was 30 seconds at Burger King.). If you pull up, you stop the timer, and do not count against whatever the limit may be.

There is a timer that times from when you start making your order to when you receive your order. Evidently employees get some type of bonus if their from order to when customer pulls away time is below a certain amount of time so they tell people to pull up so that when you drive up it ends the order time... Someone I know, who knows the guy who owns the Popeye's closest to me told me this awhile back.

I asked the same question at the window of another fast food place and they told me there is some type of monitoring system that tracks how long it takes for a car to go from ordering to pulling away and the corporate owner looks at the data to monitor productivity. So they game the system when the staff is slow by telling people to pull forward and the detection equipment spits out numbers that makes it look like the car went through fast.

Sorta puts the customer in a Catch 22.

Ignore the cashier and stay at window, and they’ll mess with your food and/or get real mean.

Follow their directions and pull up, and you defeat the purpose of the timer, and thus guaranteeing that the service will remain slow and crappy in perpetuity.

Before I hit the window at BK, they would motion for me to back up? Then I wait for their signal to drive up.

Sometimes it's pull up to the doors also.

That's the BK on Siegen. Maybe that's why they closed down now.

I have been asked to pull up at a lot of FF places when there is nobody behinds me, it's because the home office rates on how fast they serve people. McD sets aside a lot of "parking" spaces for this, it's why I don't eat much fast food these days well that and most of it is nasty.

The Popeyes at Highland and I-10 asked me to back-up, then pull up again, for his numbers of course. I bartered, I said "Ok' for 2 biscuits", he laughed, I got my 2 extra biscuits.
