Why does everyone shite on the Honda Ridgeline?

I get that it is basically a Pilot with a bed, but what does a Tacoma do that a Ridgeline can’t?
Honda’s core competency is definitely not making trucks, but I am in the minority in thinking the Ridgeline ain’t that bad.

If this is true, why buy the truck when the van can haul more people and you can tow still with the van.
