Ok if we don’t like the amount of sugar that is one thing, but there is no reality where Diet Coke taste better.

Bruh, marketing at that level is a job that never ends, as you're constantly trying to destroy your competition. It goes so far beyond "tinkering", especially when on a global scale and with that many brands to market.

I only drink Coke Zero, and every time they change the taste, it tastes a little more like regular Coke, which I can’t drink but love, so it’s just constant improvement from them.

All I have to say is that the cokes at the place in Atlanta taste really, really good (the little can they give you before the tour)

I drink it a lot and I've noticed the new red cans, etc.
It doesn't seem to taste any different, even though the can says "new taste"
The first rebranding from CZ to CZS did not seem that significant either.

They are two diet versions of Coke with vastly different flavor profiles.
I notice that Coke Zero avoids the nasty aftertaste of Diet Coke, but Diet Coke has more carbonation.

They didn't change the formula, just gave them a reason to get rid of the white lettering on the Coke can and replace it with black lettering. BLM (Black Lettering Matters)
Guessing the white lettering was seen as privilege-enhancing and they couldn't have that now could they?
