Some of you don’t understand your Coke history

- New Coke came about (purportedly) because during taste tests they found people oreferred the taste of Diet Pepsi. So they made New Coke to taste like Diet Pepsi. It tasted like shite. So they eventually went back to Coke Classic. Now whether this is a true mess up or not is debated. Many people just assume the time stint of new Coke was just so they could take real sugar out of actual Coke... so when Coke classic came out with HFCS people wouldn’t really notice. Some just argue it was done just to build up demand for a product ... like people just missed it and wanted it back.

- Diet Coke exists alongside Coke Zero because Diet Coke has such a distinct flavor profile that it is thought if as such at KO.... an actual different version worthy of stand alone branding

- Coke Zero ... from rumors I heard .... used aspartame before it was officially cleared for use in drinks. That doesn’t sound correct to me. But from what I’ve heard Coke Zero was good enough to pass into mass production but people understood it needed tweaking even after its release. So amongst some of these rumors is some truth as to now why we have Coke Zero Sugar. I know the ingredients are different from Coke Zero. But why I’m not sure. Like Coke Zero is gone and was easily replaced by CZS but Diet Coke remains. So clearly KO thinks CZS is a new and highly improved formula of CZ so much that it replaced it.

Maybe I’m wrong, but I thought that aspartame has been used in drinks for decades. Like since the 80’s. Am I wrong? What’s in Diet Dr Pepper than?

SO is diabetic so it’s the only coke he drinks. The most recent formulation made it taste even closer to regular Coke.

And? Trump is not thin, nor does he pretend to be. His statement is still true.

So far in this thread…someone posted a fake tweet about Trump dissing Diet Coke drinkers, to which someone posted pictures of him drinking Diet Coke. Now other posters are defending him because he’s fat and proud.

Quality entertainment. Keep it up chaps.

Because it sucks?

Yep, that's what I'm going with.

Why does it seem like the zero formulations has less of a pop, essentially less carbonation. Is it something with the formulation that doesn’t support a crisp pop of carbonation? I feel like they taste watered down.

I think diet Dr Pepper is better that Dr Pepper Zero based on the above.
