Not public, my comment was highlighting the overall lack of public or private courses in Baton Rouge. Being the capital and having so much industry, one would think there would be a lot of golf playing by politicians, industry managers, and sales people.
there are 9 golf courses in the city limits of Baton Rouge and 7 in the suburbs

I don’t play golf but I know many ppl that do

I’m pretty sure that’s wrong, even if you’re counting the fully private courses.

You can play golf for pretty cheap. I see guys all the time with hand me down clubs and cheap balls, but they’re still enjoying themselves.

It’s like anything else. You can spend as much as you want.

I read the metro area of Birmingham has more than 40. I don’t play either but it is very popular here. The 14 number was from looking on google maps less than 10 miles from my house.

according to Golflink.com the golf courses are: Webb, Baton Rouge Country Club, City Park, LSU, the Country Club of Louisiana, the two at U-Club, Clark & Santa Maria

I guess they aren’t considering the new St George and listed those as ‘in’ Baton Rouge because that’s what their address says.

Clark isn’t in BTR and LSU is closed. BRCC, CCL, and U-club are private and invite only.

Why should tax payers pay for public golf courses?

Why should they pay for basketball courts?

and?

Technically CCL & U-club aren’t BTR

I explained what I found - so I’m not sure what you are getting at.

Nothing, just reinforcing that we don’t have many courses.
