Why does Amazon make me rent/buy movies on my phone or computer rather than directly….

On my streaming device…..it’s infuriating and we just don’t rent content from them anymore because of it. It instructs me to go and rent the movie on my computer and then log back in and watch it on my NVIDIA shield. It’s intentionally making it harder to rent movies and I don’t know why they’d do it. Maybe to force me to buy a fire stick instead?

I would imagine this could prevent somebody from spending your money if they hack your Amazon TV account

Probably to avoid paying the 30% that Apple and Google want them to pay if the transaction is done through the app.
