Because people are idiots?

For what it's worth, Indians judge the hell out of us for eating beef, and the entire world judges us for eating and basically creating the fast food industry.

It really isn't much different than eating pork besides just being a cultural thing. Pigs are about the same as dogs from an intelligence perspective.

we eat pigs. pigs are just as smart or smarter than dogs. it's a cultural thing. I'm not worried about them eating dogs....I'm more worried about if they are humanely treated or not before hand. I was reading an account from a guy who went there and he said often times the dogs that get eaten are loose on a farm while the pets are in a small rabbit cage type kennel all of their life.

fricked up barbaric stuff happens in our slaughter houses too. It might be technically illegal, but disturbing stuff still happens.

Eating dogs is just as fricked up as eating cows or pigs. At the end of the day, if you eat meat you're supporting the abuse of animals just because you like the taste. In 100 years we'll look back at the meat and dairy industry like we look at slavery now.
