Why do we judge Asians for eating dogs?

A lot of holier than thou Olympic athletes are trying to “shine light” on the dog meat industry in Korea.
Kind of racist IMO. Dogs arent endangered. Would be like Koreans judging us for eating squirrels or something.

Because dogs are cool and squirrels are little fricks that enjoy dropping acorns on your car when you’re leaving for work.

Because their treatment of the dogs is barbaric. I’ve seen a video where a dog gets its hide peeled off while it’s still alive.

Dogs and humans have coevolved and in many ways we wouldn't be as advanced as we are without dogs. They really helped us improve our ability to manage lesser animals so we could eat them and grow our society. I have no problem treating dogs special, because they are.
But if you want to get into hypocrisy, the angle to take isn't a handful of people eating squirrels, it's the many dogs we kill in shelters each year. We definitely are not living up to our own standards with regards to managing the dog population in this country. Dead for food vs. dead because nobody wants you is still dying before you should for reasons you shouldn't.
