Link to Playboy article.

quote:

All four of Kanye West’s solo albums since 2008 have elicited the same question: What’s wrong with this guy? We could figure it out when he released 808s and Heartbreak, as he was kind enough to put the answer in the title. Everything since has spurred reactions ranging from psychoanalysis to outright disdain.

quote:

To root for Kanye was to root for self. I remember driving to campus while in grad school, struggling and running out of motivation, and playing The College Dropout every day on the way. The energy was infectious, and the stories were inspiring. The music was truly uplifting, even as I was the guy Kanye laughed at with all the interludes: broke, carrying around one advanced degree while working on another and lacking the courage to commit to what I truly wanted to do. I wasn’t going to walk away from school, but listening to Kanye made it sound like I could push to do anything.

This might be interesting for the "folks" who don't get Yeezy.

Because man... Everybody should be entitled to clean drinking water. Even people in Kanye get thirsty.

I have never thought about him, his shitty music and terrible choice in picking his spouse.

I think he's gay. Maybe he hasn't fricked a man, but he's thought about it.

I give zero fricks about the guy to be honest, or any celebrity for that matter. He can tell Taylor Swift to frick off, kick a puppy, bitch slap Kim.. I just don't care - and neither should you.

I point to the source of all this anger and outburst he always exhibits to the loss of his mother. His mom was known to keep him on an even keel and humble. That really hurt him when she died and with him being in the spotlight, he did not properly grieved. Those who don't like Kanye, I encourage you to go listen to "Hey Mama," he made it while she was still alive but it is one of the best written songs in his catalog.

I don't give a frick about Kanye. I just think it's funny as hell and am sad for humanity that people ever took that clown seriously.

I am mostly fascinated by the Kanye reactions. However, I also think he is really talented. My sister and I were talking about him last year and I told her that there are artists I like better and whose albums I look forward to more than Kanye but none that I think could shape the next year of music more than Kanye.

I've never heard one song of his and I'll spend the rest of my life trying to replicate my success.

It is hard to say we care at all because there is no time separation for proper reflection.

How will he be viewed in 40 years? Will he be revered like Elvis or will he be forgotten like John Sebastian and white dog shite?

Oops, you were asking about Kanye West? Never mind.
