Why do some people say axe’ instead of ask when speaking?

What causes this type of common speech impediment to occur in multiple people? You see it with a few other words as well but it’s always fascinated me to think about how certain words are spoken incorrectly throughout an entire region or culture and how it developed.

earl instead of oil
urnge instead of orange
simular instead of similar
I guess people were never corrected in their 12 years of government mandated schooling

I don't know. Why don't you axe them?

I'm more annoyed by grown people who don't know the difference between to/too, where/were along with others.

I hate when people say "Mine's". "This is mine's"

Why do some people draw out the syllables of their words?
Why do some people have a twang?
That’s just as annoying.

I often hear such errors when in the grocery isle.

I'd rather someone with some sort of accent instead of the vanilla Millenial midwest no accent. You're from south Louisiana--how did you start talking like a low level Dallas corporate employee?
