Why do some people have signatures that are totally unreadable?

I sometimes don’t even see a recognizable letter.

They sign it 100 times a day

A signatures job is to work.

i sign shite all day so i’m not trying for perfect penmanship plus my signature is unique so any attempt at forgery will be blatantly obvious.

I think sometimes people think it’s cool.

Because they are written quickly and in cursive usually.
Cursive handwriting will soon be a thing of the past.

Why do we say "I have to take a piss" or "I have to take a sh*t"
-instead of-
"I have to give a piss" or "I have to give a sh*t"?

To confuse people like you who can barely read

so that kids that can't tell time without a digital clock, or drive a car with a standard transmission, or give correct change as a cashier without the register telling them what to give back can't read what is written. they be dumb like that.

About the only time I have to sign something is the CC pads at the store and no way am I trying to do a proper signature on those things. I have to seal drawings with my signature for work but I have a jpg scan that is legal, quick and easy.

Only thing you can recognize on mine is the two first letters. Grew up idolizing baseball players and thought their autographs were art

Bingo.
The second I started signing off on shite 80x a day, my signature started getting shorter.
It is now the first letter of my last name.
ETA: had an office manager put my signature on a bullshite supply order a few years ago and the lady who reviews our tickets called the second she saw it.
Wasn't malicious, but is raised red flags.

Can’t be forged is the correct answer. Had my identity stolen and the only thing that alerted me to them trying to drain my bank accounts was the uniqueness of my signature when they attempted to withdraw the cash at a bank.

I had a job that involved signing a bunch of things so I eventually started signing stuff as fast as possible.

Those with an unreadable signature often physically sign hundreds of documents every day. My work signature is a couple loops and squiggly lines. It has to be unique, not legible.
I rarely look at prescribers’ signatures unless it is for comparison when I suspect a forgery. This is rare now that most prescriptions are printed or electronic.
However. Temporary residents that spaz their signature and fail to indicate either their NPI or DEA+suffix on a handwritten hospital blank should be flogged...it delays the prescription and wastes everyone’s time. I only need one of the above.

I sign 50 times a day. My signature has basically turned into my first letter sort of the first letter of my last name and sort of a circle.
My wife signs every single letter of her name and it is bizarre to me.
