My wife had full B/C cups before kids. After kids they were just lifeless. She had so much trouble shopping for bras. She went and got some smaller c cups put in and they are awesome.

Sorry, but I don't agree there is some grand and profound symbolism between artificial breasts and the philosophy of genuine life.
It's obviously psychological, and your answer is actually a decent theory when I think about it.
I just don't agree with it, I feel it's just a personal preference and doesn't need some deep dive into why, not all things do.
also the fact you used "modicum" casually in a sentence the way you did makes you way smarter than I am. I'm bascially a functioning idiot.
