Why do some gay women attempt to make themselves as ugly as possible?

First, they cut their hair, they get horrible tatoos, they get overweight, they wear unfashionable mens clothes, and some start chewing tobacco. If their objective is to attract other females, they're doing it the wrong way. This is in no way an antigay statement. They can do whatever they want. They lost me on the dress code. Oh, and wearing the baseball cap backwards is cute.

Because they hate their fathers and crave attention. They think that they need to act out in a negative way to get that attention. Girls with daddy issues either go ugly or slutty or both. It's always a cry for attention.
