But they’d also bet the barn that I’m way too smart, properly-raised, and savvy to have ever been involved with drugs.
Hahahahahah

People who take drugs are weak and followers so I have no respect for them. Could care less about their recoveries because statistics show they will relapse due to the fact they are weak and followers. Hero worship should be those who live a moral and hard working life.

Always bragging about some shite a normal man just does… ‘I ain't never been to jail.' What do you want, a cookie? You're not supposed to go to jail, you low-expectation-having motherfricker

I hope that nothing ever happens to you that would cause you be "weak" and cause you succumb to substance abuse.

Not as bad as celebrating people with mental illness...
The black gymnastics girl is a perfect example.
So is the Japanese/American tennis player.
They are legit celebrated for quitting and having mental illness.
Whole thing is bizarre as frick to me.

Because society has decided to prop low lifes onto a pedestal. I’m no esteemed individual either. It’s starting to get very dystopian.
Been going on for the last few decades. Everything bad is good; everything good is bad.
I’m not exactly sure why people believe it.

So we're supposed to be in awe that you no longer do drugs and steal from your friends/family/strangers to feed your drug habit?
Would you prefer if they still did that?

Could be worse. I remember folks celebrating some black guy, with a history of crimes, including pointing a gun at a pregnant lady's belly, that died from a fentanyl overdose somewhere in Minnespolis. Now they're building statues, writing books and celebrating his pathetic life in other ways.

You’re insufferable.

Ex alcoholic here and I kind of agree with you. Its a pretty hard thing to overcome but nothing to celebrate.

Maybe they have not been the victims of a former addict or felon. They do not know what it is to be repeatedly lied to or stolen from. They have not seen the children whose Christmas presents were taken away and traded for drugs. They were never robbed, carjacked, or assaulted. They are not spending their retirement years raising grandchildren who were neglected and abandoned.

It’s the media that has been pushing this narrative; along with others; most of us see it for the horseshite it is, but our livelihoods and even our safety will absolutely be placed in jeopardy for publicly speaking out against them.

7/10, threads like this are why I gave up debating addiction on this website a long time ago

It's called forgiveness and redemption by turning your life around for the better. You know, what Jesus preached in his day.
Only one man ever walked this earth both sin free and perfect, that was Jesus Christ.
So want to go into details on exactly the mistakes you've made in life, and how you overcame them? Confession might do you some good.
