Growing up, my good friend had a little sister we all called Katie, Kit Kat, Katchadoodle, KK - whatever
We were 8 years old coming up with stupid stuff that stuck.
When my friend and I were sophomores in high school, KK was in 8th grade, started wearing eye liner and being dramatic and told us ‘I’m Catherine now’
So when she got to high school the next year with us we called her ‘Catherine Now’

I named my son Duke. I was well aware of the nicknames. but that’s a man’s name. We have had no problems. If I wasn’t me, I probably wouldn’t have named him that.

It isnt. My parents didn't plan on calling me by my nickname. It actually made things easier.
