To the bar???

The house gear is rarely reliable and I’m a competitive guy.

Depends on what you’re there for. You there to make some money or just have fun? If just having fun, grab a house cue.

Probably has nothing to do with your pool stick.

ETA: Should show them your night robe.

Isn’t it annoying how when you start a thread on your phone “GO” is right there on the keyboard and submits the thread?

Does the bar have a pool table? Because if not then that's a strong possibility as to why.

But wouldn’t that put me at an unfair advantage to the other dudes playing with house gear?

All the alcohol drunk while playing will negate the positive effects of a good que.

Most people just go to bars to hang out and socialize

If you enjoy playing pool that much and prefer to bring your own cue then go for it.

I'd probably think you're a tool but why care what anyone else thinks if you enjoy it?

yes

If you were going to a pool hall, it would be one thing. Bringing a pool stick, in probably a case to a bar to shoot some pool is that next level of ghey, it's aTm ghey.

Is it a coin table, if not you bring your own balls as well

I know you didn’t mean to hurt my feelings but come on man.

I’m just a guy at a bar with his own personal pool stick. That seems a tad overboard in judgement

Can't forget the rack, glove, and chalk dust.

I've had my own cues for years and when heading out to play pool, I bring my own stick. Most house cues are total crap with mushroomed tips, if they have the tips on them to start with. Rolling most of them across the table will find them looking like boomerangs as they are bent to hell and back.

I like to have a consistent weight and shaft diameter when playing, so house cues are out. If you get grief, just buy a Sneaky Pete stick that is a 2 piece that looks like a house stick with the exception of the connection point.

Because it’s a bar, not a pool hall. The table has probably been spilled on tons of times so don’t bring that “unreliable house gear” crap. If you’re taking yourself that seriously at a regular bar then you’re probably an arse

If a guy brings his own bowling ball to a bowling alley is he an arse?
How about golf clubs to Top Golf?

Those sneaky Pete sticks can go up to $600.

What’s the high end price point for a pool cue?
