I would hate to go through life going out of my way to find things to worry about and ways to be extra pussified. The MO of this virus is 95% of death are old or compromised. Sure; you can find odd cases here and there. But the pattern is pretty apparent. Geez Louise.

There is a reason healthcare workers are so upset about the lack of PPE. They are seeing things at work that the general public doesn’t see. They would not be this freaked out if it was “just like a flu”. And they can’t openly talk about it cause of HIPAA and concerns they will get in trouble with their hospitals.

Yes, there will be a few young and healthy folks who die, but that isn’t the norm. Far from it. There is plenty of data to look at.
Young healthy people also die of the flu. It’s rare, but it happens.
Rational, healthy, thinking adults realize we are probably safe even if we get this thing. While the remote chance of death exists.
Nobody on here is saying that ER workers aren’t having a tough go of it. That wasn’t the point of the OP and nobody in this thread has said that.

“Several”?!? “a few”?!?? What is that supposed to mean? 2? 8? 300? When it comes time for the author to show the severity of the disease and prove their point, they have no statistics whatsoever.

Even if it was just like the flu, lack of PPE is a problem full stop. Doesn't matter if the patient has an infectious disease or not, if you are dealing with healthcare workers who are only now so concerned with PPE, then you and your fellows are part of the reason we have such high infection rates in hospitals even under routine conditions.

By far, majority of the casualties are elderly and people with major health problems.
At the same time, make no mistake, many people have died who were relatively healthy or had minor issues. Not to mention, if you have the unfortunate luck of catching something like pneumonia with the corona simultaneously, you doggone right that has the potential to take an otherwise healthy person out.
