I eat franchised fast food once or twice a year. The last time was McD's in the Atlanta airport during a lengthy delay. And that was pre-Covid, so it's been a while.

Although I'm many decades past high school, I still weigh the same as I did then.

Down vote away, fatties. IDNGAF.

I love fast food and have no shame in eating it. I honestly rarely do because when I’m eating lunch or dinner, it’s either somewhere out sitting down as a sort of social thing (even if I’m alone, I consider going somewhere for a meal and wine to be social).. or it’s something at home/work that I made or that came from the grocery.

I would eat fast food more if I did takeout, I’m sure. Just don’t really ever find myself getting takeout.

Also, we dont eat out much cause it's expensive.

Family of 4 at Wendy's and you are looking at 30 bucks pretty easily if everyone orders what they want.

We can be eating steak and shrimp fajaitas at home for dinner for three days for that price.

I get that fast food it is not healthy and you shouldn’t eat it. What we cook at home is healthier and tastes better. That said with kids’ activities or work travel, you sometimes bite the bullet and get fast food. It is not like I don’t exercise.

Honestly, I get so full from a #2 combo at CFA that I rarely eat the rest of the day.

Honestly I may eat at McDonalds twice a year and its normally for breakfast, especially working from home. If I'm home and dont feel mike cooking I go to a little poboy/plate lunch spot by my house. Its only a few dollars more than fast food and much better food.

I can count on 1 hand the number of times that I've eaten fast food that wasn't fried chicken (Chick-fil-a, Popeyes, or Cane's) in the past 5 years.

ETA: Maybe a bit more if you consider Shake Shack or 5 Guys fast food, but I don't since they don't have drive through.

A McDonalds sausage biscuit is amazing when I’ve been craving it
The only fast food I eat lately is Cane’s
Working from home has changed my eating habits for the better

I can get an 18" shrimp po-boy a large fry and a small onion ring for $25. We split that between 4 people, I dont have to wait in a line, and it closer than all the other fast food joints around me.

I will occasionally eat Chick-fil-A, or Chicken Salad Chick, when on the road and options are limited because I have to be somewhere but desperately need nourishment on the go, but I haven’t eaten McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, or the like in many years, if for no other reason than I just find it gross.

Full disclosure, I did try and eat a Whataburger hamburger during the first Covid shut down out of have to, and in all seriousness regretted it almost immediately afterward. That stuff felt like I ate a metal ballbearing the way it hit my gut.

Fact of the matter is though, I don’t know that eating fast food every now and then is the problem as it is eating it with regularity, or worse yet, making a steady diet of it. I do try and make healthier decisions for lunch, and have long given up all sodas and sweet garbage in lieu of water or unsweetened tea.

Truth is, when you’re young, you don’t get it, and indulge at will, until time catches up with you and you realize it’s time to start making better decisions. That’s why I cook at home mostly.

As an aside, fast food is demonized as being so unhealthy.. but plenty of more expensive sit down restaurants are equally as unhealthy (sometimes worse).

The reason fast food gets that reputation is because often times, people stop at a drive thru and get food when it’s not lunch or dinner. Like they’ll wake up in the morning and drive thru for a coffee and end up with a whole breakfast meal.. then turn around 2 hours later and eat a full fledged lunch. Or they’ll run by the drive thru at 3:00pm when they’ve already had 2 meals that day and still plan on eating dinner.

I think the convenience of fast food is what makes it unhealthy moreso than calorie content. You can eat fast food in the place of a normal meal and certainly be okay.

Anyone with kids who claims they never eat McDonald’s is a liar. Having said that, I despise McDonald’s. Other than the sausage McMuffin with egg their food is dogshit. The only fast food places I actually like are Whataburger, Culver’s, and Sonic.

This. I eat McDonald's twice a year (one QPC then one McRib). I eat CFA about 5x a year when visiting my parents in Arkansas or when we have the grandkids. I cook 90% of the time.

I don't dislike fast food. It's just not convenient for my lifestyle, and I would rather my meals out be sit down affairs with a nice cocktail or glass of wine.

Eating McDonalds is like jerking off...

There’s people who admit they do, and then there’s liars.

I despise sonic. Truly disgusting food IMO.

If you put cheddar cheese in a jalapeño popper you will not get my tastebuds to come to your restaurant

I can honestly say I haven't taken a bite of fast food in over 10 years. I don't think I've eaten at any place with a drive thru in that same amount of time. I don't understand peoples fascination with chick fila, its deep fried garbage. I do, on occasion, swing thru the drive thru to get cheeseburgers for the dogs though. They eat poop every once in a while and don't mind eating garbage.

The thing for me, is not just the nutritional facts, but the preservatives/processed foods that are concerning.
