I haven't heard "Of course" much but hear "No worries" fairly often instead of "You're welcome". I'm fine with any of these if it's said in a polite manner.

It’s short for “of course you’re exploiting millennials”
How about I exploit your arse with my foot?
And I'll give it to you all for free.

In terms of etiquette that is much more appropriate than you're welcome.

People from south Carolina said of course to thank you, 30 years ago.
Its not only millenials.
Fwiw, it means you need not thank.profusely, the gesture was the right thing for me to do as gracious gent I am.

And if it's not? What are you going to do, challenge them to an honor duel outside?

Shouldn’t it be pronounced “Of Caws” then?

At least they say anything

Because all Baby Boomers need to die NOW . .. well, not really now. They can wait until after Christmas to die. That will give a happy meaning for me to the song "Last Christmas" by Wham!

Jesus, you’re an idiot. Neither is stupid, that’s the point. I’m saying that you’re stupid for thinking that they are

You're welcome-polite dismissal.
No problem-less polite dismissal with a bit of grump.
Of course- a brag about how awesome I am for doing a trivial nicety. “What else would you expect from someone as great as me.”

I say this.
And get off my lawn.
Pretty regularly.
Your assessment seems accurate.
