Well I’m not sitting on a throne. And I’m not holding a scepter. It’s not a diktat; it’s an opinion.

Because they're fun as shite and video games today are just absolutely incredible today with the graphics and storylines. It's like a playable movie most of the time.

It’s the same as phone games.

They are nothing but stress relievers

If I had time at night I’d love to play a game every once in a while, usually just goto bed though because the kids suck at sleeping

I wonder why grown men worry about what other grown men do with their time and money.

The AVERAGE gamer these days is 35 yrs old. That average is only going to go up as people grow up playing video games.

I've never met a grown man that played video games and also wasn't something of a idiot.

Shouldn’t they be starting a family, working to provide for their family, or at least reading books or something that provides value to their life? Seems like any baw that’s over 22 playing video games is a loser unless they’re single

I have done or am doing all of the above and still find time to play video games. So EAD

It is crazy how much some of these top gamers make. My boys follow some guy named Ninja who is the best Fortnite player in the world (I guess). Guy is like 23 and a millionaire.

Yeah, Ninja will have over 100k people watching him on any given stream. Imagine an entire Death Valley stadium of people watching one guy play a video game, lol. Guy has 9.7 million followers and probably makes around 3-10 million a year between sponsorships, sponsored streams, twitch subscriptions and donations.

ETA: I watched a World of Tanks streamer when I discovered Twitch, and I thought, "Is this some loser in his mom's basement?" Yeah, the guy has a Ph.D. in a science field at 26 or 28, puts his wife through college (20k pounds, so about $26k a year) and bought them a house.

I fully agree. A grown man doesn’t have time for video games.

I really don't understand this new trend on the OT where the response to any criticism is a bunch of retards shouting about how wrong it is to judge another grown man. Some people and behaviors just suck and should be criticized.

I mean isn't that one of the points of this message board?

Ninja makes at least $500k a MONTH by streaming Fortnite. That's just from his Twitch account, too. He also competes in tournaments and has a ton of sponsors. Insane.

some of us grew up in the Mario generation. Started with Nintendo and its just what we do. It's all good unless it affects your chores, fatherly duties, husband duties, and the like. I usually play my Ps4 once everybody is in bed.

Why do grown men watch movies?
Why do grown men listen to music?

If you have to ask why grown men play video games it just means you don't like them or understand them. The vast majority of people that try video games will learn to like them. It's like music or movies, it's just entertaining. Period.

Interesting caveat at the end of that sentence. I guess we losers will keep running shite while you winners are too slow to enjoy games. Cheers!

As a pastime, because it is fun and a harmless way to relieve stress. It can also be a harmless hobby.

As a time suck, I agree it should not be overdone. It's also an excellent way to bond with the kids. Did that with the GF's (no pics) little sister (no pics), and they both adored it.

I’m married, have a daughter, and a wife. I play Xbox with other dads/husbands when we all get free time.

Cheaper and safer than going to a bar or whatnot.
