My housemate backs out the wrong way and has to go around the block to start. Some of it is weird. But she was like that when she was 40.

I often figure she is dead when she's just hours late.
For example
I gave her explicit instructions, directions home from civilization so she could avoid danger during a rain storm and she ended up taking a mountain crossing at 4,200 ft during a driving snow and sleet storm on a road down to one lane in places where landslide had happened day before in a couple of places.
Hours late. Draggles in complaining of the snow and hail and scary illegal traffic (trucks over 39' on curving mt roads- not permitted).
Says she'll never go that shortcut again. 2 months later, does it again.

I just texted her a bunch of snow level forecasts for the next few days so maybe she can get back this time without drama. 2,000 ft tonight but rising all day tomorrow to 7,000 tomorrow pm and Thursday too and then Friday down to 3,500.

One thing for sure it will take her longer than you would to make the trip.
The thing about driving 10 below speed limit bothers me too.
She was rear ended last year.
She enjoys the scenery.
Also she does what her GPS says.
If I hear some b.s. I ignore it.
She goes around farmer Jones barn. I bet that's how she got in snowstorm on.mt road. Gps as crow flies.
It's a kind of laziness. Not engaging the brain. Like GPS is perfect. People end up on wilderness tracks that way.

My great-grandmother used to do this all the time and we hated it.

She had my grandparents, my mom, my sister and I to bring her anywhere and everywhere she wanted at anytime of the day, but she wanted to go places smack dead in the middle of the day during rush hour.

She would drive her Buick down Perkins, college, government at 40mph at the most....in the left lane.

She made a turn onto the side road besides the sonic on Perkins rd close to the Benny’s, and the road was closed for construction.

She decided to put the car in reverse and back straight out to Perkins rd during rush hour. Traffic came screeching stop and luckily a state trooper pulled her over.

Trooper spoke to her and he called my grandparents to come pick her up and bring her home.

The trooper did the greatest thing for the family. He stamped a hole in her drivers license. He deemed her unfit to drive anymore.....we were happy AF he did that.

So we started bringing her everywhere she needed to go (as we wanted to in the first place).

Well, one day my dad and I was at her house and dad leaned against the car while we was talking outside. He felt that the hood was warm and he asked my g-grandma if she had been driving that car (even tho her license was voided), and she said no.....Dad was like “ok”.

Dad had me take her back inside to distract her for about 2 minutes and he popped the hood and disconnected the car battery and took the leads off.

I started to notice about a week later that she seemed very irritated, which was different for her. She was mad that she “really” couldn’t drive anymore.




Thank god that when she backed out into Perkins rd that no one was hit or Worst.
