Kid of one of our clients, played sports, liked to hunt and fish, not so different than most. Went off to college, came out as gay (NTTAWWT), now has the stereotypical gay mannerisms. Did he learn them, or did he always have them and suppress them?
Yep, although it's not always this way. I knew a couple of dramatic, flamboyant kids who are now dramatic, flamboyantly-gay adults.
But I also knew a couple of dudes who were very late to come out, and were pretty average male in mannerisms, and now they're sassy and delicate.
Like anything else, when you go 100% into a pretty insular community you probably start acting like that community. Whether it's mannerisms, how you dress or how you vote (I know 2-3 Republicans who came out late in life and who now have been pressured into being gay-centric voters).

Open mouths showing teeth are a form of fear and/or aggression. Probably subconscious wiring

Masculine people rarely laugh and never get startled.

To keep wrinkles away later in life. They are pulling skin down to keep the laugh wrinkles from appearing around the eyes. Not hard to figure out if you are older than 18.

If this bothers you Never EVER go to Japan. This is maybe the most ubiquitous body language there, more prevalent than the bow.

People use this gif a lot on Twitter and it's the gayest thing I've ever seen:

I will do that if my mouth is full and I laugh or need to talk. Because, y'know, nobody wants to see a mouth full of half eaten food.

Guessing
Losing normal composure makes them feel vulnerable.
Its covering losing face.
I never do it. If I'm.surprised I do martial arts.
My arms go up on either side of head.
I may jump turn to face sound,
There's no thinking. I do martial arts if surprised.
I laugh with mouth open.
Loud, long.
