Why do cigarettes have such a bad reputation?

I think they’re unhealthy, and I’m not going down the fattening food trail. I don’t understand the negative publicity.

When did the ad campaigns start? Because someone pushes a button on a voice box?

Last I checked they sell the cigarettes by the carton at your local convenience store.

Because if used properly, steadfastly and legally, they result in the user’s death.

They’re not any more dangerous than alcohol

If you drank as many drinks as smokers smoked cigarettes you’d probably die even sooner.

Alcohol is more fun though so it gets a pass

More likely

The question is why people care so much about cigarettes. I smoke. There was a time I didn’t. What’s the difference?

They are an incredibly unhealthy, addicting, trashy product that should be universally shunned.

If you are younger than 60 and still smoke, I seriously question your intelligence.

As said, it’s the second hand smoke that got the ball rolling.

Don’t drag us non-smokers into your consequences. Not to mention the nasty lingering odors on you and on our clothing.

They’re gross. As a former smoker (12 years off) I promise smokers have no idea how bad they smell either. People hate being around you. We can smell your stank from 20 feet away.

A prehensile rear hand is what I need

A lie...just like smokeless tobacco causes cancer... smoking probably does, but the evidence on dip/chewing tobacco is really horrible... really no correlation
