Why do British tax payers put up with the Royals?

If I paid high taxes to support a completely irrelevant extremely expensive institution I’d be hugely pissed!

I agree, but you're saying this from the perspective of an American. Our historical identity was founded on telling royalty to GFY.

Forbes dubbed Kylie Jenner, then 21, the world's youngest "self-made" billionaire. At the time, Forbes estimated that Jenner's company, Kylie Cosmetics, was worth $900 million. That plus her personal earnings from the company brought her net worth to more than $1 billion, Forbes said

The crown is one of England’s biggest money makers. Imagine the blow to England’s status in the world without them. What else do they really “contribute” other than being the sort of ceremonial grandfather of western civilization?

Correct.
Not only is Queen Elizabeth and her heirs are good for tourism and the economy in general, they are very active in diplomatic affairs and neither tories or labour has more influence with them than the other does.
Countries like India and Germany have a parliamentary system like the UK does with an elected head of state for a fixed number of years where in the UK, Queen Elizabeth is the head of state for life and will pass the role down to her son or grandson when she dies or when she's finally had enough and abdicates the throne.
Can you name those elected heads of state in Germany and India without googling?
No?
That's why for parliamentary systems, in my opinion, constitutional monarchies are better as opposed to an elected head of state. With an elected head of state, who ever wins that post is more influenced by the party to which the holder of the office is a member of; that's more influence than the other parties and that leads to some conflicts. Furthermore, elected ceremonial heads of state that come and go are complete nobodies compared to royalty and do nothing economically.

The Queen is the largest land owner in the World. She technically owns all of Britain, Australia and several other countries.

same reason blacks keep voting for dimrats who are the biggest racists of all and actively work to keep blacks poor and unemployed
they grew up learning "thats what they should do" and are too dumb and/or stupid to think for themselves.

That point is amplified by the fact that she does not need a license to drive and she actually drives herself without a license. Hell, I would't be surprised if she drove without insurance as well.
That's one hell of a flex right there.
It's like that talking point that comes up in political and legal arguments that you can drive on your property without a license but you will need one to drive on public roads.
Well, the entire countries of UK, Canada, Australia and the smaller countries are her properties.
Not only that, she doesn't even need a passport to visit those countries because she is the Queen there as well.

Only because they will it to be.
/TV - Watch Downton Abby, if only for the historical reference of how the British tax-payer, in the late 1910's, began put an end to the Edwardian Era of Lords, Dukes and Earls that were not in the hierarchy of the Royal Families.
The butler of the family made the comment to the staff that they should all be thankful that they not been led to a guillotine in the town square.
