It’s not about drinking, and it’s not about the color green

It's for the same folks who do Mardi Gras parades and just can't quite emotionally move on from Mardi Gras. This gives them one last emotional boost.

I’m all in for Mardi Gras bc it’s a 2 week celebration

I’ve never understood St Patrick’s Day or the parades and green beer. I guess some people just don’t have anything else to do.

I’m Italian and lapsed catholic so I get St Joseph’s alter

I don’t even think St Patrick is Irish

In Ireland they call Americans who go all in despite their only connection being four or five generations back "Plastic Paddies."

My wild Irish rose
The sweetest rose I knows
You gives her a drink
She gives up what’s pink
Oh, my wild Irish rose

The Irish have serious demographic problems right now. The only part of that island not overrun with migrants is the Loyalist part of Ulster. Sinn Fein has sold out the people they claim to have fought wars for. There aren't migrant camps in the Shankill area of Belfast. The Ulster Protestant militias would never allow it.

He was from an aristocratic family in Roman Britain. Captured by Irish pirates, held captive for several years, escaped, then went back as a missionary.

Correct- he was “British” but back when Britain was ruled by the Romans.

He was however the most successful evangelist in Ireland and converted tons of Irish from paganism to Catholicism.

It would be interesting to see how Ireland turned out if they stayed pagan.

If nothing else, lots of little kids would have avoided buggery.

Same reason we celebrate Cinco de Mayo. We like to party.
