This x1000.

Government departments are almost perversely incentivized to suck as opposed to be more efficient as any savings will just be removed from their following year’s budget and/or the department will “solve” the issue and their jobs will was then be obsolete.

It’s so fricked up.

Did you not take a civics class. Govt is by design beaurocratic. Beaurocratic organizations are usually the least efficient.

On some level it’s actually stunning that you can hand a guy an envelope and a dollar and you even get change back for that envelope to make it to a location across the country in a few days.

you can't blame medical billing sucking on medicare. I've never had either and had to dispute thousands of dollars because doctors just make up shite and send you a bill. It is cheaper for you to pay it instead of fighting being overcharged or charged multiple times. They are by design difficult to deal with.

I have seen a few post office folks who are good workers and genuinely have a positive attitude. 70592 and 70508 each have one or two.
For the rest it’s just the security of a pension that makes you stop caring.

No productivity incentives = govt run healthcare. Why would anyone choose to work harder than they need to? If you get paid 200k to see 20 patients vs 40 patients why would you do more?

Instead of doing productivity incentives, the govt. would choose to either hire more providers at a higher cost (salary, pension, benefits) and just continue to throw more money at the problem.

Unionized employees. Near impossible to get rid of underperforming or unmotivated employees. Plus the current hiring process (mostly vets or the disabled) bypasses many great candidates.

No incentive to reject a natural tendency to laziness.
