Because letting your adversary know it was you shows what you are willing to do if they behave badly. That makes it a more effective deterrent to any future stupid actions against the U.S.

Its crazy how someone can be here in the US and navigate a drone in Iran and blow shite up.

Unless things have changed, the US military uses actual military pilots. 60 Minutes did a piece on a drone pilot a few years ago. He used to fly A-10s (makes sense).
During the segment he went to some building on base that was dark with nothing but monitors, remotely blew up some structure at some undisclosed location, left the building, got into his car and drove home to have dinner with his wife and kids. It was awesome

I've been to Langley air Force Base and I saw the buildings where they do these secret drone missions.
I just think killing that one general is going to cost us a lot more lives and money. And we might have other countries fighting against us. It's a no win situation.
