The traffic is a nightmare, the city is so unwalkable you practically need to Uber across the street, the city looks like a collection of 1980s strip malls, the weather is brutal, it is flat and bare with hardly any trees, the food scene is mid at best, and it is no longer even cheap to live there.
That's most all large cities in Texas.

Dallas and Houston are by far the two worst major cities in the US. The entire world seems like a stretch though.
I challenge any one of you talking shite on Dallas to take a trip to Newark, NJ.

shite, that's Beaumont, Longview, Tyler, and more. I'll wait for someone to tell us all how great the weather, traffic and walkability are in Baton Rouge, Lake Charles, Lafayette, the North shore, etc.

Great job narrowing it down to a 200 mile radius. What do you think the areas surrounding Indianapolis, Chicago, etc., look like once you get out of the burbs? Flat AF.
At least it is mostly sunny in the winter in Dallas, this crappy midwestern grey overcast crap is why people do meth to escape the dreary-ness.

Chicago in the summer is elite. You’d be retarded to argue against that.
The overall landscape in Dallas is bad, but there are several really nice neighborhoods. The streets of my neighborhood are lined with big mature oak trees, it actually looks really nice for being just a couple of miles out of downtown
But you’re absolutely right about the natural landscape

People on here think I hate Texas and I really don’t. But, I can’t not push back at the way people defends its inadequacies.
The vast majority of the parts of Texas where people actually live are ugly, have terrible weather, and are lacking in outdoor opportunities. That can’t really be debated

The topography is different around DFW. Most of the far flung suburbs are boring, the land is flat, and the trees are young. The topography in much of east and south Dallas is totally different. Lot of rolling hills, beautiful ~century old trees all over.
Overall, I agree with you. There is a dearth of natural beauty. I don’t mind the weather though. It’s pretty nice when it’s 90 and low humidity in September, 80 in October, 70 in November and 60 in December. The summer heat is just something you deal with. Million pools, go on vacation that time of year.
It’s just a huge city with tons of job opportunity. That’s why everyone is here.

You lost all credibility when you said Atlanta is nicer than Dallas

I just don’t get why people can’t be honest about where they live. I’m not going to argue that New Orleans is a well functioning city or that it has great career opportunities

People have irrational pride in their homeland. It’s a common thing.

It amazes me why people buy multimillion dollar houses in Dallas. Like bro you make enough to live anywhere, why here?

yep, there are some pretty ostentatious cribs around the metroplex and I always ask myself the same question, although I know it's because this is where they're making their money, what I don't get is that there are a ton of professional athletes that make their year round home here, for some reason Colleyville and Southlake are pretty popular places for them

Go frick yourself. I worked for the founder’s son.
The business founded by a WWII Navy pilot in 1946. His last name was Nettle - I don’t remember his first name. It merged with another insurer in 1980.
The son still has the logo in his office reception area. It’s a large piece of rock from the straights of Gibraltar carved to look like one side of the straights. Strangely, it looks EXACTLY like the Prudential logo. I wonder why that is.
Perhaps Prudential bought the book of business or bought the service mark, I don’t know. However, the Prudential logo has its origins with Gibraltar Life Insurance.
Thanks for playing partner.

Sick of you people from Louisiana talking shite about Atlanta.
Atlanta is a world-class city that hosted the Summer Olympics and has one of the best economies in the United States. Besides South Atlanta.... Atlanta is actually a very safe Major city with very safe suburbs.
It's a great place to live but because of the stupid Falcons/Saints so called rivalry or a bunch of pussies that had to drive the mean highways of Atlanta, you people sit and talk shite about it every fricking day on here when the fact of the matter is that where they are from or live is a total shithole.
I have lived everywhere - Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Nashville, Dallas, Alabama, Las Vegas and several others and Atlanta has more to do than any other city with the exception of Las Vegas and is probably one of the safest places I have lived... oh, and people who live here are actually pretty damn nice and friendly

Houston metro has a higher crime rate than Atlanta metro.
I don’t believe Atlanta is as dangerous as people make it out to be.
It is also way more segregated than Dallas or Houston. You can send your kids to a school where they won’t be a minority without having to live in a million dollar house or pay 20k a year for private schools.
It doesn’t make much sense for me to ever live in Atlanta over Dallas or Houston, but I wish I had the option over those places, honestly.

What about the Dallas and Houston burbs are better than the north shore exactly?
The Dallas suburbs are full of Indians now.
