Why can’t we harness the power of this hurricane and use it to fuel America for a year?

For Pete’s sake it’s 2022. A side benefit would be lessening the effects of the storm if we remove some of its power. I guess storing it would be an issue? If science would focus on this instead of crashing rc rockets into asteroids maybe we could join the 21st century.

You would probably have more luck harnessing electricity from lightning.

We should drop a nuke on it to try and weaken it instead

We just started working on a nitrogen bomb to kill this thing. Now you want us to do a 180°, and harness its power?

Electric storage en masse really isn’t a technology that we have truly mastered. There’s also issues of transmission losses and hurricanes being so damn destructive that they break whatever machine you use to harness the power as well as whatever infrastructure you use to transport said power.

Another great idea. Why aren’t we working on these things? Volcanoes too. We just sit here and let nature happen to us.

What about detonating a nuke deep underwater within the eye so all the cold water shoots upward into the eye. It would be pretty badass to see a mushroom cloud appear through the eye.
