The amounts of masks and gowns needed are astronomical....and they are needed yesterday!

They do exactly that, every single day

The same reason McDonald’s can’t get their ice cream machines to work.

We had better presidents at that time.

Actually liquor distilleries are producing hand sanitizers
It’s the masks I worry about for our workers on the front line. God bless them

The normal demand is just not there. You would go out of business having the capacity to handle this situation on a normal basis.
On the other side of this, alot will change....hopefully..
They will have to have a stockpile of like 2 billion masks somewhere now.

Yes. A totoiletarian president would not have let this happen.

Well, we know who the a-hole in the room is.

I make rubber ducks, rubber ducks are not selling right now so I shutdown. High demand for masks, I decide to open back up and make masks. I invest a few million in production equipment and employee training. I can only sell them for what they would "normally" sell for bc of the state of emergency and after this passes the demand for masks plummets. I loose my a$$. No incentive for me to make masks.
Same for expanding production at current manufacturers of masks, demand will drop after this crisis is over.
"They" do not have a magic money tree, "they" have to make decisions for the long term. "They" only do things like make more when it is profitable or when the govt foots the bill for more capacity.

You’re right, he would have quarantined the group most dangerous to Americans at the time.
Also, what did he do about the Great depression other than extend it 4-6 years?

A couple months of need simply because people hoarded the supply, doesn’t force industry to change.

Because we need ethanol for our gas, paper for tax refunds, and masks for meth producers.

The problem with Medical supplies is that everything has an expiration date. I mean everything, cotton balls, tongue depressors, alcohol swabs and these masks everyone wants right now.
This shite doesn't "expire" when stored properly. It probably would "expire" faster than the expiration date if stored improperly. I would hate to see what EMS companies, hospitals and medical practices throw away every day from things "expiring".
