Some heaters do have an emergency mode that heats up metal plates in addition to the regular heating elements

Had a lab manager in monroe that hated his night crew. He'd move the thermostats to as low as possible before leaving every day. The night crew had to wear winter jackets to work. I finally told them to put ice up next to the thermostats and little fans next to them to trick the thermostat. It worked, I was a hero.

Warehouse thermostat is set at 90 degrees.
Jokes on you, there is no heater in the warehouse, 90 is for the summer so it won’t cool lower than 90.

I have a variable speed HVAC. I only have to adjust it one or two degrees as it maintains the temperature. Changing it two degrees feels like a huge difference.
Wife gets hot and instead of turning it down 1 or 2 degrees, she changes it 5 - 10 degrees. Then you are freezing and she turns it up 5+ degrees. You never have the same linear temperature.
Lucky for me she does not touch it compared to before, as I found 72 degrees to be the sweet spot with no complaining.
And don't forget about the ignorance of people regarding the humidity in the house. If you turn on an AC full blast at 70% humidity, the air will feel freezing compared to the same temperature with Humidity at 50%. You have to let the AC system do its thing to get the humidity down, then you can fine tune it to the most comfy temp. Instead, they finger it up and down like a roller coaster, and it maintains a high humidity %.

We normally set the heat on 64 at night. If it's gonna be real cold my wife will say "it's gonna be colder tonight, should we put the heat on 68?"
This is diff than the op.
This change may be necessary depending on where the thermostat is since it’s reading the temp.

They need to make one that has fingerprint technology that only i can set it because the wife is always turning it up to high in the winter and to low in the summer. Easy to do when your not paying the bill.

Not if the air it is blowing is hot

Yeah the thermostat cares very little what the temperature is other than to turn off the unit upon reaching specified temperature.

It's been running nonstop since 7:30, and it's maintaining 65 degrees. 40 x 80 and insulated.
Well if thats the highest it will go, then technically it doesnt matter if they set it at 90 or 70.

This is usually commonly seen amongst the XX chromosome crowd.

They absolutely make them with locks and codes and whatnot for office buildings.

Damn, this is so true
And the dog days of summer, my wife (no pics) wanted to keep everything in the house at 73 because she was convinced if we put the thermostat below 70, the AC would have to run twice as hard and use double the energy….BECAUSE AN A/C TECHNICIAN TOLD HER THAT

Every woman I know thinks that if they set the thermostat higher it will get to their desired temperature faster.
