because at the end of the day, most normal people don't care or even keep up with all of this, so they don't lose much business, but score a few virtue points in the process

OP's question is valid, though. I stopped using another website because they gave money to the SPLC, of all people. I mean, that's not just racist, that's flat-out stupid. You might as well donate your money to the Pickwick Club; at least they're relatively nice rich frickers.
