I wish they just made one universal time zone tbh.

This. Why can't we just accept the fact that in England, the work day starts at 8 am, in Georgia it starts at 3 am, etc. Why does the time have to be changed to make everyone feel all warm and cozy inside?

There's a lake between the two states (I can't remember the name), but when you're there your phone will keep switching towers (one in Georgia and one in Alabama) and the time will constantly change.

That would be annoying. Related, but I knew it was time to finally get a new phone when my S4 just gave up switching time zones. No matter where I flew it just gave me Central time. It had finally joined the union.

Georgia is on Eastern Time and across the bridge, Alabama is on Central time. I can only imagine how fricked up it must be if you had to cross the bridge to go to work in a different time zone.

Several Alabama cities along the border operate on EST. I used to have an audit in Valley, and they were Eastern. We stayed in Auburn, not far away, and it messed with your night and morning. We'd get off work around 5 EST and drive the 30 minutes back, and it would be about 4:45. So we would wait to eat dinner, end up messing around some, and go to bed around 12. Only to wake up at 5:30 to get ready and leave by 6:15 to be back there at 8. It made sense for Valley to operate on EST, but there were hardly any hotels worth staying in, much less food options at night.

Why do new days start at 12:00 AM instead of 1:00 AM?

Why is 12:59 AM not actually called 12:59 PM?

Have you ever seen an analog clock?

I was pretty confused as to what the actual time was when we were there. I don't even remember which side of the lake we stayed on.

They are separated by the Chattahoochee River. I just read that Phenix City, Alabama stays on Eastern Time, to avoid confusion.

Give you an extra hour in the club and when you look down and see 2 then it turns 1. Who the hell knows.

You need a separate account for when you're not shitposting. I can't ever take this one seriously. Maybe PucasL, or something like that, so everyone knows it's you but that you're not full of shite. Whaddaya think?

My bad, I thought I was logged in on the serious account. It's "pectus" and it's only for serious answers and scoring dick pics.

Speaking of time change...I just got back from FT. Benning Georgia. Georgia is on Eastern Time and across the bridge, Alabama is on Central time. I can only imagine how fricked up it must be if you had to cross the bridge to go to work in a different time zone.
My sister used to live in that area. My brother in law would buy gas in one time zone and cross over and purchase something else a few minutes later in another. The credit card companies freezed his cards multiple times thinking some sort of fraud was going on.

frick no. Half the fun of that handle is watching him set the hook when he sounds just close enough to right. See the next two posts.

Also,
1) Hawaii and Alaska are hours behind the West coast.
2) The time change occurs at 2am LOCAL time in each time zone, anyway
3) Were you aware that LucasP no longer lives in Baton Rouge?

midnight on the west coast so no parts of the country change in different days.

We’re in different days every single night of the year. AND It doesn’t change at midnight on the west coast, it waits until its two am there too.

The most likely reason is that going from midnight to eleven, or one to midnight would cause date problems. Any earlier than midnight and there’s still a significant number of people up working doing stuff.

But as to why we all do it at two in morning? In 1966 Congress enacted the Uniform Time Act which set the rules for this shite.

The more you know...

But yes, it makes no sense anymore (if it ever did) to change time twice a year.
