Why are there so many cell phone stores in the hood?

Everyone uses cell phones, but it seems like every strip center in the hood has a cell phone store and they are always packed. I even went in a couple HEBs or Kroger’s recently in the hood that had cell phone booths inside??? Why is this, OT?
It’s not like on race uses cell phones more than the other.

Same reason there are more liquor stores, pawn shops, check cashing joints, etc.

It's because you can pay your bill when you feel like it (or add minutes). By doing that, you don't need a contract.

My wife has one that she never uses either. I keep telling her to throw it out but she wants to hang onto it. Women can't get rid of stuff i guess.
