I could go to Disney probably twice a year for a week and still keep things fresh and new. Going to Disney does not mean we can't and don't do other things, but I'm just glad so many people don't like it. I only hate when those people go because they're usually the rude people that cause problems.

Disney specializes os a multitide of things to do for just about everyone in the family. No, they don't have everything and they don't have the best of everything (or probably anything for that matter) but just about everything is really really good, their service expectations are very high and if you can't have fun there than you either just don't want to or did it wrong.

We just got back from Disney world, and the amount of adults who tried to cut lines ahead of kids was disgusting

There are usually much more similarities in the personalities of the people who despise Disney than the ones who enjoy it.

I guess it gives them gratification if they feel they vacation is somehow better than Disney. Then, they feel the need to try and argue it. You never hear someone who enjoys Disney trashing going to the beach or hiking or traveling abroad.

And why so many Disney haters think people who enjoy Disney ONLY go to Disney World is still mind boggling to me.

I don't think anyone has anything against people bringing their kids. Although, I think you should maybe let your kids experience the rest of what the world has to offer instead of bringing them to Disney every single year.

I think the intent of this thread are the adults who are Disney freaks no matter if the children are involved or not. I know of someone who goes a couple times per year, but went when their kid turned like 3 months! That kid isn't getting anything out of that. My in laws go almost once a year with no children. They do the whole nine yards when they go too. Breakfast with the characters, etc. I honestly don't understand that. Not trying to bash anyone, but I have no desire to go until I think my kid is going to be old enough to enjoy it. I'd much rather drop that money on a beach vacation, visit a major city I've never been to, or save up for an extended European vacation. Disney seems like a neat vacation. But it is not the only vacation as it is to some people.

Why can't you do both? Why can't you bring them to Disney every single year AND take them to do other things?

Disney for kids under 3 are free. No tickets and no cost at the character meals. And up to age of about 5/6 for most kids they can still get in a stroller to nao when they get tired. Once they hit 7-11 they are more expensive and you do less you it becomes less of a value.

I've done beach vacations and Disney vacations every year since my daughter was 6 months old and without question Disney was MUCH easier on us than the beach at least for the first year. Disney specializes in family vacations and almost everything they do is designed to make it easier on families and kids. From entertainment, dining, transportation, accommodations, etc.

I went for the first time a couple of months ago with my wife and 2 daughters. One is 4, so it was basically for her. We spent a week there and it was the most stress free I have ever felt. The weather was amazing, the service was awesome and it was just a great family experience. I could see going back once the baby is a little older.

I went twice as a kid (age 5 & 12) and will probably bring my kids when I have them. But there is no way I would go with just my wife right now. Waiting in line to get on a ride is high on a list of things that I consider miserable. Way too many other places to see in this country and the rest of the world.

i'll be 100% honest

i have "peter pan syndrome" to an extent and this whole worship makes no fricking sense to me at all

i remember freshman year in college my entire friend group got fricked up one night and started planning a road trip to disney world. i was seriously blown away and refused to go...and then i became a lepper for a few days because they couldn't understand how i didn't want to go to a park made for 6 year olds

I don't get the draw of the beach, especially around the gulf. I can sit in my bathing suit out in the sun in my backyard and get drunk there. Even better, there aren't trashy, drunk people to deal with at my house. And I'd much rather a pool over shitty, salty water with waves no higher than 3 feet.

At least I didn't make a thread to bitch about it for no reason I guess.

I've never been and have never really had any desire to go to DW. We have a fellow at work who goes at least 4 times a year.

Alot of the "hate" for Disney comes from stuff like this and it's just because people don't know. They have ever never been to Disney (and hate it) or they went 25+ years ago and hate it.

They don't know what it offers either beyond what they remember as a child or have heard from others. If it was someone trying to speak highly of WDW, they either tried to convince them they are wrong, or tuned them out.

If you go o Disney without Kids, you go when kids are in school so the crowds are smaller. If planned correctly, you can do all 4 them parks and do every headlining attraction and never wait for more than 10-20 minutes (tops) to do everything you wanted to do.

Not trying to convince you but event like Food & Wine Festival can be a good time for childless adults and while it may not be for everybody....what you remember as a child is not what Disney for two adults has to be.

Disney isn't really an amusement park though. It's a freaking city
