I've listened through a lot of the Ryanverse books in the past year. Just finished Executive Orders. I may stop there, but they've been enjoyable. I think I liked Sum of All Fears the best. The last third of that book was pretty intense.

I haven't done the John Clark books. I've heard I need to do those.

Another good one. You’re a tanker—how authentic was it?

I’m not but it sounded legit to me, but I’m a sucker for military techno-thrillers.

It was actually quite accurate. But that’s because the guy who wrote it had actually commanded armor in real life.

I’d give anything if they could make it into a movie. With the advancements in AI, I’m sure it’s possible now.

Agreed. Found myself googling topographical maps of central Germany to follow along tactically

The only fault I can see is that Alec Baldwin, who would have accidentally shot Captain Ramius .

Possibly accidental.

HBO would make Toland a black Lesbian or some bullshite like that. I don't want them or Amazon or Netflix anywhere near this book

He wrote stories. You act like he was Donald Rumsfeld.

Honestly my biggest fear isn’t inevitable DEI casting choices, but that whoever eventually does this produces a “modern interpretation” instead of keeping the Cold War alt-setting

My apologies for breaking the punchlines here, but that one is the most epic of all his work. It stands alone, from beginning to end, from all his other works. If you only read one Tom Clancy book, this is the one to read.
