so we should honor people with a genetic flaw or a weakness of character ?
Overcoming that weakness, sure. That is the meaning of inner strength.

I agree. I like guys who don't get addicted.
Yeah, some people only get notoriety for their addiction because their dad is the head of a distilling company

I was strung out on meth from the age of 17-20. My old man was a dope man.
Been off it 16 years now.

You feel the same way about cancer survivors you fricking prick?

For myself it's more about reminding myself how far i've come and how much better it is now. And it's a way to let people who might be in the middle of it now that it can get better, and does if you want it to get better.
It's indescribably strange but we can actually discuss this if you'd like. Maybe I can shed some light.

It's a good question.
Why are you so "look at me" about being never facing adversity?
It must be a be nice view from that ivory tower you live in.

I'm going to call bullshite. Not saying you have never seen an AA person talk about their length of sobriety but most people keep it to themselves unless questioned about their sobriety.
I think you are straight up full of shite that sober people are so look at me. Total bullshite.
